JoberTrust Checked Reviews

Real Reviews. Supporting Evidence. Greater Confidence.

JoberTrust Checked Reviews add an extra layer of accountability by allowing customers to support their reviews with evidence that is privately checked by JoberTrust.

See what makes a review Checked, what evidence we look for, and why Checked Reviews carry greater weight in the Trust Score.

What Is a JoberTrust Checked Review?

A JoberTrust Checked Review is a customer review supported by evidence that has been submitted for JoberTrust's private checking process.

The evidence helps JoberTrust assess whether the review is reasonably connected to the transaction or experience being described.

Checked status means the supporting evidence passed JoberTrust's checking process.

A Checked Review is an additional trust signal — not a guarantee that every statement in the review is true.

Standard Reviews vs JoberTrust Checked Reviews

Both are valuable. Checked Reviews add an additional layer of evidence.

How a Review Becomes Checked

  1. 01

    Write the Review

The customer describes their actual experience with the professional.

  2. 02

    Submit Supporting Evidence

The customer may provide relevant evidence such as payment receipts, invoices, work-related documents, photographs or other appropriate supporting material.

  3. 03

    JoberTrust Checks the Evidence

JoberTrust privately reviews the submitted evidence to determine whether it reasonably supports the review.

  4. 04

    Evidence Is Assessed

The evidence is considered for consistency, relevance and connection to the transaction or experience described.

  5. 05

    Checked Status

If the evidence passes the checking process, the review may receive the JoberTrust Checked designation.

  6. 06

    Greater Weight

A Checked Review carries 2× the weight of a standard review when calculating the Trust Score.

What Evidence Can Support a Review?

Proof of Payment

Relevant bank transfer confirmation, payment receipt or other payment evidence.

Invoice

An invoice that reasonably corresponds with the service or transaction.

Work Evidence

Relevant photographs or documentation showing the work or service provided.

Service Documents

Documents that help establish that the described transaction or service took place.

Other Relevant Evidence

Other material that reasonably helps connect the reviewer, professional and transaction.

Evidence must be relevant to the review and reasonably connected to the transaction or experience being described.

Evidence Must Match the Claim

Submitting a genuine receipt does not automatically make a review Checked.

Review claim

“I paid a professional to repaint my house.”

Payment evidence

₦2,000

A ₦2,000 payment receipt would not, by itself, reasonably support a claim about repainting an entire bungalow if the amount and other transaction details are inconsistent with the service being described.

This is not a fixed minimum payment, and no particular amount automatically passes or fails. The assessment is based on the overall consistency and relevance of the evidence.

Names and Transaction Details Matter

When supporting evidence contains identifying information, the information should reasonably correspond with the people involved in the transaction.

  1. Customer / reviewerName shown on JoberTrust account
  2. Payment evidenceSender name
  3. ProfessionalName associated with the professional

This helps prevent someone from submitting another person's receipt or an unrelated transaction as evidence for a review.

  • Sender
  • Recipient
  • Amount
  • Date
  • Transaction reference
  • Service or transaction context

No single detail necessarily proves a transaction by itself. JoberTrust considers whether the evidence makes sense as a whole.

When Evidence Does Not Support the Claim

Unrelated Payment

The payment cannot reasonably be connected to the professional or service described.

Inconsistent Names

The names shown in the evidence do not reasonably correspond with the people involved.

Inconsistent Transaction

The transaction details do not reasonably support the experience being described.

Insufficient Context

The document exists but does not provide enough information to connect it to the review.

Altered or Fabricated Evidence

Evidence that appears manipulated, falsified or intentionally misleading may be rejected.

Unsupported Claim

The evidence does not reasonably support the specific claim made in the review.

The existence of a receipt does not automatically make a review Checked.

Your Supporting Evidence Is Private

Payment receipts, invoices, photographs and other supporting evidence submitted for checking are used for JoberTrust's private review process.

Supporting evidence is not publicly displayed on the professional's profile as part of the Checked Review.

Checked Reviews Come From Accountable Accounts

Why Checked Reviews Carry More Weight

1×

Standard Review

2×

JoberTrust Checked Review

JoberTrust uses a weighted review system when calculating Trust Score.

Reviews supported by evidence that passes JoberTrust's checking process carry 2× the weight of standard reviews.

This gives evidence-backed reviews greater influence without allowing a single review to determine a professional's entire Trust Score.

For Professionals: A More Accountable Reputation

JoberTrust is designed to make professional reputation more accountable and transparent.

  • Reviewers must have eligible verified accounts
  • Email verification is required
  • Phone verification is required
  • Real-name registration is expected
  • Supporting evidence must reasonably correspond with the review
  • Fabricated or misleading evidence may not qualify

A Checked Review does not automatically mean JoberTrust has accepted every statement made by the customer. The Checked designation indicates that the supporting evidence passed JoberTrust's checking process.

Create Professional Profile

If You Want Your Review to Be Checked

  1. 01Describe your actual experience.
  2. 02Keep relevant transaction or service evidence.
  3. 03Submit evidence that belongs to the transaction.
  4. 04Make sure names and transaction details are accurate.
  5. 05Never alter, fabricate or misrepresent evidence.

Only submit evidence that you are authorized to provide.

A Receipt Is Not Proof by Itself. Context Matters.

JoberTrust does not simply ask:

“Is there a receipt?”

We ask:

“Does the evidence reasonably support the transaction and experience being described?”

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about JoberTrust Checked Reviews.

What is a JoberTrust Checked Review?

A customer review supported by evidence that has been submitted for JoberTrust's private checking process. Checked status means the supporting evidence passed that process.

Do I need evidence to leave a review?

No. Supporting evidence is not required for a standard review. Evidence is only needed if you want the review to be considered for the Checked designation.

What types of evidence can I submit?

Payment receipts, invoices, work photographs, service documents and other material that reasonably connects you, the professional and the transaction described.

Are payment receipts visible to the public?

No. Supporting evidence is used for JoberTrust's private review process and is not publicly displayed on the professional's profile as part of the Checked Review.

Does a payment receipt automatically make my review Checked?

No. The existence of a receipt does not automatically make a review Checked. The evidence must reasonably support the specific claim being made.

What happens if the sender's name does not match the reviewer?

Names shown in the evidence should reasonably correspond with the people involved in the transaction. Where they do not, the evidence may not pass the checking process.

What happens if the recipient's name does not match the professional?

The same applies. If the recipient details cannot reasonably be connected to the professional described, the evidence may not support the review.

What if the payment amount does not reasonably support the service described?

There is no fixed minimum amount, and no particular amount automatically passes or fails. The assessment considers whether the amount and other transaction details are consistent with the service described.

Can genuine evidence still fail the checking process?

Yes. Evidence may be genuine but still lack enough context to connect it to the review, or may not reasonably support the specific claim made.

Can a professional see my private supporting evidence?

Supporting evidence is submitted for JoberTrust's private checking process and is not published as part of the review.

Why do Checked Reviews carry 2× weight?

Because the review is supported by evidence that passed the checking process. The weighting gives evidence-backed reviews greater influence without letting a single review determine a professional's entire Trust Score.

Does a Checked Review mean JoberTrust guarantees the customer's story?

No. The Checked designation indicates that the supporting evidence passed JoberTrust's checking process. It does not mean JoberTrust has accepted every statement made by the customer.

Why must users verify their email and phone before reviewing?

It reduces anonymous review abuse, makes disposable accounts harder to use, and connects reviews to accountable accounts. It also supports the evidence checking process.

Can a professional create fake Checked Reviews for themselves?

Reviews require an eligible account with a verified email and phone number, real-name registration is expected, and supporting evidence must reasonably correspond with the people and transaction described. Evidence that appears fabricated or misleading may be rejected.
